Haymoor Middle School is maintained by POOLE UNITARY EDUCATION AUTHORITY and was opened in September 1992, making it one of the newest Middle Schools in Dorset. The school, which is heavily over subscribed, has undergone since it opened, an extensive expansion programme, which now provides us with a considerable number of specialist areas: a multi-purpose hall a large Resource Centre Library Computer Suite a music studio with practice rooms three areas catering for different aspects of technology a specialist art room a science laboratory changing rooms extensive playing fields The furnishing and equipping of the school has been guided by the demands of the National Curriculum. This has resulted in a school that is well designed and equipped with the most up-to-date and best resources. In the school grounds we also have a pond and our own nature reserve, which is an example of the increasingly rare lowland heath habitat; both these features enable our children to leam about their local environment in school.
